Supporting the Mission of Evangelization & Catechesis
Faith begins in the family, the domestic church. As part of the Division of Education and Evangelization, the Department of Family Catechesis provides support, services, and on-going formation to parishes, pastors, priests and leaders to enable them in the Church's mission of evangelization and Catechesis.

In the great commission Jesus sent His Apostles to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:20). This commission to evangelize; that is share the Good News of God’s saving plan for us, and the call to catechize; that is to put people not only in touch, but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ, exist as the central mission of the Church. The Department of Family Catechesis/Parish Leadership Support seeks to support parish leaders and parents in their task of evangelization and life-long catechesis.
