CATHOLIC CHURCH TO OPEN IN ANTHEM AUGUST 8TH

Work on a new Catholic church facility in north Phoenix is nearly complete.

The first Mass at the St. Rose Philippine Duchesne is scheduled at 5 p.m. Aug. 8, at 2825 W. Rose Canyon Circle in Anthem. Until then, the congregation will continue to use a school gymnasium for weekend services.

St. Rose's annual lease to use Deer Valley Unified School District facility ends Aug. 1. Workers are adding the final touches to the new building, said Frank Kacmarsky, St. Rose's spokesman. <read story>
